Our Chapter: Chickahominy River Women of The Society Incorporated is organized as a 501c(3) Non-Profit organization started as a Pre-interest group on December 31, 2022 and chartered on April 18th, 2024. The programs are established at the National level. https://www.thesocietyinc.org/. The partnerships established include collaboration for selection of the youth to participate in specific programming to include but not limited to recitals, showcases and talent shows. The chapter has provided support to local young artists throughout the Greater Richmond, VA. Area and the surrounding counties of Henrico, Hanover, Chesterfield, Goochland, New Kent, Richmond County, Prince George, and Surry.
We expose young people to a wide spectrum of creative endeavors that includes:
- Offering opportunities to perform in a professional venue which includes.
- Literary Arts – Poetry, Essays (and other writing), Artistic student response and expression.
- Performing Arts- Dance, Stage, and other Theatrical Performances.
- Visual Arts – Fine, Applied, and Photography.
- Musical Arts – Voice, and Instrumental Music
Even though we are a new chapter CRW supports by providing scholarships and stipends so the youth can take music and dance lessons. The support can also be used to help them purchase dance school gear or even attend symposiums and programs to help them expand on training and future educational opportunities in the Arts. We have also established relationships with previously established organizations such as BGA School of Music and BBFC, CRW invites to perform in a biennial showcase. Also, external organizations can be invited that include local dance and performing arts academies.
